Challenge: Current hemostatic fabrics often face issues of blood leakage through the fabric or at fabric-tissue interfaces, leading to additional blood loss.

Solution: Professors Liu Haiqing and Chen Qinhui from Fujian Normal University developed an anionic/cationic nanofiber hemostatic gauze using coaxial electrospinning technology.

Innovation 1: Upon blood contact, the nanofiber gauze rapidly forms a dense physical barrier within 3 seconds via electrostatic interactions between anions and cations, completely blocking blood permeation.

Innovation 2: The nanofabric exhibits strong tissue adhesion, preventing blood leakage from fabric edges.

Innovation 3: The hemostatic nanofiber fabric demonstrates excellent hemocompatibility, cytocompatibility, and biodegradability. This eliminates the need for post-hemostasis removal, minimizing secondary injury and rebleeding risks.
