Academician Meifang Zhu’s Team, Donghua University, Advanced Materials (IF 27.4): Biopolymer-Based Fibrous Aggregate Materials for Diagnosis and Treatment
Challenge: Biopolymer-based fibrous aggregate materials (BFAMs) have garnered increasing attention in biomedicine due to their excellent biocompatibility, processability, biodegradability, and multifunctionality. Notably, medical applications of BFAMs demand advanced structures, properties, and functions that traditional trial-and-error methods struggle to achieve.
Main Content: A review by Academician Meifang Zhu, Associate Researchers Liping Zhu, and Guoyin Chen from Donghua University summarizes recent progress in BFAMs, covering raw material selection, structural and functional design, processing technologies, and applications. Additionally, challenges in BFAM development are discussed, along with perspectives for future research.
